How to read a laboratory report.

Check the sample, method, findings, and what was not assessed.

Match the sample

Check the product, lot where known, sample date, laboratory, method, and report identifier. Confirm how the sample was selected and purchased. A vendor-selected vial and an independent website purchase are different evidence.

Keep analytical attributes separate

Identity and analytical purity do not establish heavy-metal levels, residual solvents, sterility, endotoxins, labeled quantity, or safety. The routine testing panel does not assess those attributes.

Read findings and corrections together

A completed report may contain concerning or inconclusive findings. Read uncertainty, follow-up review, and published corrections alongside the original result. Public redactions must be identified; private supplier evidence is not part of the public report.

A report supports findings about the analyzed sample, not every product a company sells.
